Multi-Timeframe Analysis

Monitor patterns across 15 timeframes—from 1-minute scalping to monthly charts. Match any trading style.

Why Timeframes Matter

The same pattern means different things on different timeframes. A double bottom alert on the 4-hour chart signals a potential multi-day reversal. The same pattern on a 5-minute chart might just be noise in a larger trend.

Our 5 minute chart pattern scanner for crypto shows more patterns but with lower reliability. Higher timeframes show fewer patterns but with more significance. Whether you need a scalping pattern scanner or a 4 hour pattern detection tool, ChartScout lets you choose the timeframes that match your trading style.

Position Traders & Investors

If you make trades based on multi-day or multi-week trends, higher timeframes (4H, Daily, Weekly, Monthly) filter out noise and show more reliable patterns. A double bottom on the daily chart carries more significance than one on the 15-minute chart. The Free plan covers these timeframes well.

Swing Traders

Looking to capture moves over several hours to days? The 1-hour to 4-hour timeframes balance signal quality with opportunity frequency. Basic or Pro plans are ideal.

Day Traders

Active traders who enter and exit positions within a single session need faster timeframes. The 15-minute chart often provides the best balance of speed and reliability for day trading crypto. Pro plan recommended.

Scalpers

High-frequency traders taking quick profits need the fastest timeframes. The 1-minute and 3-minute charts (Enterprise only) detect the most patterns but require quick decision-making and execution. These setups have lower reliability but higher frequency.

Multi-Timeframe Confirmation

Many traders use multiple timeframes together. Watch for a pattern on your trading timeframe, then check higher timeframes for confirmation. An ascending triangle on the 15-minute chart is more significant if it aligns with support on the 4-hour chart.

Pro tip: Set up watchers for the same pair across multiple timeframes. When you get alerts on 2-3 timeframes showing similar patterns, that's often a stronger signal than a single timeframe alert.
